21. Cupressus cashmeriana Carrière CUPRESSACEAE

This tree, with very attractive, drooping, grey foliage appears to be a cultivated form of the native East Himalayan species Cupressus himalaica which can be seen growing in the Woodland Garden (forming Number 64 of the Trail). It was first described from a specimen introduced to an English nursery from ‘Tibet’ in about 1862.
